3D Pictures With Anaglyph 3D Glasses

By: Joe Healy

3D Glasses set to be released for home use with DVDs and Blu-Ray
Disney studios will make its' debut into the 3D realm in August of 2008,with the release of Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus:Best of Both Worlds Concert, which will include 3D glasses for home viewing. This was shown on Disney Channel with red-cyan paper 3D glasses in July 2008.
In all probability it will use similar 3D glasses in the blu-ray release. Thanks to Disney’s research, and the greater clarity of blue-ray, there have been great improvements in red-cyan anaglyph 3D glasses, particularly as they relate to the close overlay of 3D images, like Disney uses in their animation products. Most Disney theatrical 3D images show far less mal-registration, compared to old fashioned polarized or anaglyph technique.

Anaglyph 3D Glasses - What Makes Them Tick?

3D glasses with the appropriate colored lenses lets you view anaglyphs because each eye sees a picture that's slightly different. For example: red-blue anaglyph 3D glasses cause the eye viewing through the red filter to to see red images as "white," and blue images as "black." The brain will have its own version of what it looks like.; whereas the total opposite phenomenon is observed by the eye masked by the blue-tinted filter. Each eye perceives true black or true white areas the same way. The brain blends together the image it receives from each eye, and interprets the differences as being the result of different distances. A normal stereograph image is created without the viewer having to cross their eyes.
